Past progressive tense

Past progressive or past continuous tense

The past progressive tense (or past continuous tense) is formed with was / were + verb + "ing"  (was walking, were going).  This tense indicates an ongoing action in the past.  In these worksheets, students complete sentences using both the past tense and past continuous tense.
