The weather here is still really bad – cold, windy and lots of rain. It’s hard to believe that we changed to Daylight Savings Time this weekend – Spring should be knocking, but we’re still in deepest, darkest winter. Unbelievable, as I’m writing this, it’s started to snow…
So, for our Spring Break activity today, we still don’t feel like going outside. Although we’ve been itching to try out some of the activities Jannifer has suggested.
Back to my arsenal of activities I have found online. Yesterday’s science adventures made a real mess in the kitchen, so we’re going to tone it down to printable worksheets today.
Here’s my source: FamilyEducation.com (I know there are thousands of web sites that offer these, so if you have suggestions please leave a comment). My only beef here is that you need to register to download their printables (and I’m always a bit cautious with having to register online).
With that said, they have hundreds of printables covering many topics, such as early learning, skill builders, geography and maps, health and safety, graphic organizers and, of course, reading and math.
Given our daughter is still struggling with understanding the differences between cities, states, countries and continents, I think we’ll spend part of our time working on some geography printables, such as ‘interpreting a map’, the ‘world map’ and this ‘mapping activity worksheet’.
I also like the look of the ‘general skill builders’ section and the ‘graphic organizers’ section.
