In K5 Math Facts we don’t only record how correct your child answers each math fact, we also measure how long it takes them. Why do we do this? We want them to learn each math fact by route and this means not using alternate methods to get to the answer – alternate methods that take longer, such as counting fingers.
In order to know their math facts properly, kids need to recall their math facts accurately and quickly.
Should You Change the ‘Mastery Time’?
The default mastery time is set to two seconds. However, of your child needs more time to read the question and type the answer, you may want to adjust this time? You will know best how fast your child is using the computer. By watching your child to see how much time they take to type in the answer from ‘instant recall’, you’ll have a clear idea of if you need to increase or decrease that time.
