Earth from Space

As kids we probably all wanted to be an astronaut and I’m sure your kids have expressed the same sentiment – at least mine has.  So, to spark our space adventure imagination, I came across this time-lapse video of still shots taken of earth from the International Space Station, which I just had to share.  Wait for the end where you’ll see images of the aurora borealis – unimaginable beautiful.

This is a link to The Atlantic newspaper’s coverage of the video.  The videos are courtesy of the Image Science & Analysis Laboratory, NASA Johnson Space Center, and the music is Chopin's Nocturne No. 2 in E Flat Major, Op. 55, from the public domain music resource Musopen.
