A compound sentence is two short sentences joined together with a word like and, but, or so. It helps your writing flow and sound more interesting.

These words go between two complete sentences to make one longer sentence.
Examples of compound sentences

Tip: You usually put a comma before the FANBOYS word when joining two complete thoughts.
